Safeguarding From Incompatible Attachments ~
Unconditional love can only come from a place of self-love first. If there are individuals hindering our personal progression, then we must work to detect these energy interferences and release them from our space, before they start to impact our vibrational state.
Interference comes in various forms, but can be best categorized as intentional or unintentional and direct or passive. Intentional passive manipulation tends to be more calculated and subtle, so it is harder to detect, but the effect on the victim can still be as strong as direct intentional manipulation, or sometimes worse. If you strongly intuit that you are the subject of such manipulation, then it is important to safeguard against this. Otherwise if we feel as though there is simply a clear disparity in consciousness, then it is best for both individuals to part ways.
We mustn't feel guilty for this, because we are honouring our own personal space. It can be sad when we feel like we are changing and others are stuck at a standstill, especially people we have long been close to. Nevertheless, we must be honest with ourselves about the way things are right now. The frustration of being stuck in an attachment, or misunderstood, can inflict trauma when prolonged and intensified. We have to unapologetically honour the self first, as long as we don't inflict harm or discomfort on another.
If may be that an explanation will help the individual to come to terms with why you have made that decision, and transparency can often help to clear the air and make your position clear. However, awareness of potential manipulation and emotional blackmail is important to avoid being pulled back in to an unhealthy attachment. Furthermore, be careful not to become tricked by yourself into upholding a connection out of 'loyalty'.
A true healthy relationship should always be mutually beneficial. Both parties should be openly and honestly expressive in one another's company. There should be full acceptance as well as continued nourishment of one another's individuality, with no expectations or attachment.
Self-development and authenticity are paramount above anything. Only you know what is best for yourself and whether you are making decisions that are reflective of what you feel inside. Be honest with the way you are feeling and trust the signals of the body. If something feels out of tune, then it probably is.
When we act in this way, we naturally make space for those who are going to inspire us on our journey, and these relationships feel much more valuable, real and rewarding.
